Honest limitation

Heavy compression rebuilds pages as images. Text, forms, links, accessibility tags, and digital signatures may be flattened. Keep your original.

A real byte limit, already entered.

PDFPinch works toward a maximum of 500 KB, equivalent to 512,000 bytes. If the original is already smaller, it preserves the original file.

A 500 KB ceiling gives photographs, scans, and several-page documents more room than smaller presets. Complex portfolios or long image-based PDFs may still need splitting or a higher limit.

A practical starting point for documents that need readable stamps, photographs, or several pages.

02

Scanned certificates

Compare the output with the original, especially when the PDF contains small print or coloured evidence.

03

Email attachments

Keep digitally signed, editable, or archival originals untouched; compress a separate submission copy.

Can the finished PDF be exactly 500 KB?

The tool treats 500 KB as a maximum and aims just below it. An exact byte-for-byte size would add useless padding and is rarely required by upload portals.

What happens if my PDF is already below 500 KB?

PDFPinch keeps the original bytes rather than recompressing an already acceptable file.

How many pages can I compress?

The current browser tool supports up to 40 pages and files up to 40 MB. A long PDF may not remain readable at a 500 KB total limit.
