Honest limitation

Heavy compression rebuilds pages as images. Text, forms, links, accessibility tags, and digital signatures may be flattened. Keep your original.

A real byte limit, already entered.

PDFPinch works toward a maximum of 200 KB, equivalent to 204,800 bytes. If the original is already smaller, it preserves the original file.

At 200 KB, short text documents and modest scans usually retain more useful detail than they do at 100 KB. Image-heavy or multi-page files can still require a larger ceiling or separate uploads.

Will PDFPinch stop below 200 KB?

It searches for the clearest result at or below 204,800 bytes. The final file can be smaller because PDF content cannot always be tuned to an exact byte.

Why might links and selectable text disappear?

When normal optimisation is insufficient, the tool rebuilds pages from compressed images. That makes predictable size reduction possible but can flatten text, links, forms, and signatures.

Is my document uploaded to a server?

No. The browser reads and rebuilds the file locally. HandyTrove does not receive or store the PDF.
