Start with a copy of the original PDF

Reorganizing creates a new document, but the safe habit is still to retain the source file. Give the output a different filename so the original scan or download remains available for comparison.

Fix page order before rotation or deletion

  1. Load the PDF and wait for every page preview to appear.
  2. Move pages into the intended reading or submission order.
  3. Use the visible order numbers to check the complete sequence.
  4. Rotate individual sideways pages.
  5. Remove blank scans, duplicates, or unwanted instructions.

Handling sequence first makes it easier to notice missing or repeated pages before anything is deleted.

Check more than the thumbnails

Download the organized copy and open it in a PDF reader. Check the first and last page, page count, orientation, text clarity, and every transition where pages were moved or removed.

Know what rebuilding can affect

Visible page content is usually preserved when original pages are copied, but document-level bookmarks, forms, attachments, signatures, accessibility structure, or portfolio features may change. Avoid rebuilding digitally signed, archival, or complex interactive files.

Keep sensitive documents local

PageDeck performs previews and page operations inside the browser. The document is not uploaded to HandyTrove, which is useful for files that should not be sent to a remote processing service.
